One of our favorite city strolls begins at Central One of our favorite city strolls begins at Central Library!

From there, you can walk to Bite Rochester, Martin Luther King Jr Park and follow the play walk on you way back to the library.

See previous post for more details and parking info!
After @roccity_library, take a quick stroll down t After @roccity_library, take a quick stroll down the road to @biterochester !

☕Here you will find breakfast and lunch items as well as speciality coffee drinks, smoothies, milkshakes and more!

☕We love this dining experience with kids because of the variety of games to play, the high chairs available and the delicious food.

☕The kids will want to head to the second floor to spot cars and trucks out the large windows and take in the views of the busy city! There was some exciting construction taking place just outside the window during our latest visit!

☕To get to Bite Rochester from the Library, head down East Broad Street, towards Clinton Square. Bite Rochester is on the same side of the street as the Bausch & Lomb Library Building, though there are two cross streets to cross on your way. This is a quick 5 minute, stroller friendly walk with fun street art to view along the way! After a bite to eat, you can continue on to Martin Luther King Jr. Park!

((Ps. We will have coupons to Bite Rochester in our new book 🎉🎉))

⁣
📚The Children’s section of Central Library is located in the Bausch & Lomb Library Building, directly adjacent to the Court Street Parking Garage. It is on the second floor and can be reached by stairs or elevator.⁣
⁣
🅿️Parking meters surround the library and are in service 8 am – 6 pm on weekdays. Street Parking is free on weekends and outside of business hours. You can also park in the Court Street Parking Garage at 194 Court St. Bring your parking ticket to the front desk of the library to validate your first hour.
⁣
🤸‍♀️There are a lot of opportunities for play here! In the preschool section, you may find a small slide, car tracks and more. There is even a “Parent Toolbox” located here with timers and social stories to help with transitions within the library.⁣
⁣
🤫Central Library recently received a renovation to their hidden room! To find it, push open the first bookshelf on the right as you enter the children’s area. If you need help finding it, a librarian is nearby to assist! Once you enter you will find a play corner and interactive wall!⁣

Worthy of its own line in our Insta feed, Cobbs Hi Worthy of its own line in our Insta feed, Cobbs Hill Park has so much to offer!

The parkour course is sure to entertain toddlers to teens and the reservoir and hiking provides beautiful views.

See our last two posts and head to https://rochesterplaybook.com/cobbs-hill-park/ for more details!
Cobbs Hill Park! Part 2 ⛲ We had a full day of Cobbs Hill Park!
Part 2 ⛲

We had a full day of fun by walking from the playground (previous post) to the Reservoir at Cobbs Hill!

📍There is parking by the Reservoir but if you want to make the .5 mile walk from the playground head away from Norris Drive, towards Monroe Ave and the Tennis courts. To begin, you will have to cut through the grass and will find a rough trail from others who have done so. Soon you will come to a gravel path that leads you around the tennis courts and up the hill to the reservoir.

👩‍🦽The loop around the Reservoir is wheel friendly! Getting to the reservoir from the playground could be jogger stroller friendly but can get tricky with the gravel paths and steep uphill climb to the reservoir. It's a workout but it has been done 💪

📏 The loop around the Reservoir is .7 miles and nicely paved. You can spot some nice views of the city along the way!

👶A great spot for all ages! The Reservoir is completely fenced in with a big open area nearby for playing and exploring. Just note, there is a road between the reservoir and the stairs that sneaks up on you!

🐶 Dogs are allowed!

🚻 No bathrooms here!
