Nature Sundays
The Nature Center at Genesee Country Village & Museum is tucked into the woods but well labeled so you will find it easily after parking in the lot. Once in the center you will spot turtles, a touch table, bird watching supplies and many other displays of local nests and birds. Outside the center check your wingspan and the Little Free Library! There is also a plethora of snowshoes available to borrow that come in many size, even for young kids! These are free to use!
For Nature Sunday, the Nature Center building and trails are open from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $10 for families, and $5 for individuals. Head here first to check in!

Grab some snow shoes and a map and head out the back door of the nature center. Here you will soon be greeted by a variety of trails. We headed to the Web Of Life Trail to view the story path! A digital trail map can be found HERE.

Sledding on the Great Meadow is so much fun! This takes place 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Nature Sundays. Be sure to check in at the Nature Center first! The hill is gradual and great for younger kids. They also provide paints in spray bottles and squirt bottles for painting the snow!

After sledding, go for a stroll in the Historic Village. During our visit, the paths were nicely plowed for easy walking, but paths may get slippery. Excluding the bathroom adjacent to the sledding hill, all building are closed. Regardless, the stroll through the village provides for a lovely winter walk. Be sure to stop by the barns and see if the goose, ox and sheep are out!
