There is more than meets the eye at Harry Allen Park. Behind the playground is The Zebulon trail head leading down to the Lower Falls creek and continuing on to Rotary Park trail. An old School House is located in this park as well.

Take Me There
The Playground
This is a beautiful playground in great shape with equipment for different age groups, There are baby swings and regular swings as well as spring toys, slides and a zip line. There are no bathrooms, though the Mendon Library is across the street. The playground is shared by a preschool and therefore can get busy.

The Hiking
Behind the playground is The Zebulon trail head leading down to the Lower Falls creek and continuing on to Rotary Park trail. Head straight back to the wooded area after entering Harry Allen Park. This trail does not loop. It is fairly flat with some hills and stairs, Zebulon Norton follows Honeoye Creek from Harry Allen Park to Rotary Park. (Another playground can be found at Rotary Park!) Once you reach the road, go over the bridge and across the street to continue on the path. The one way trail is about 3/4 mile. Keep an eye out for Poison Ivy!

The Creek Access and Waterfall
Creek access with a small waterfall is just a short walk from the playground at Harry Allen park. If you walk behind the basketball courts you will see the trail head and shortly into the trail you will find the steep descend to the creek. Depending on rainfall, the creek can be very accessible for wading, however, there is a strong current leading to the small waterfall there and the water can get deep in the spring and after heavy rainfall. Please note, this is the site of an old dam and therefore there is various metal scrapes and ruins. Wear water shoes and watch for poison ivy along the creek bed. There is also some graffiti here that may be inappropriate for young children.
