Schoen Place is probably one of the most popular spots to stroll the canal in Rochester. With many dining spots, Ice Cream, Lock 32 Brewery and shops, it’s a go-to walk on a summer’s day. This spot also often hosts free summer concerts and is a great spot to feed the ducks.

The Ducks
Go to Schoen Place in Pittsford to feed the ducks! This is one of the best spots to go as the ducks seem to always be there and it is allowed (many places do not permit the feeding of wild ducks so be mindful wherever you go). Please refrain from bringing bread for the ducks. Bread products are in fact not good for waterfowl or even the waterways! You can purchase cracked corn inside Artisan Gelato for $1 or pack frozen peas or corn kernels. We park by the Coal Tower Restaurant (Free public Parking along the fence to the right of the dumpsters) and head directly across the street towards the canal and Sam Patch Kiosk. That’s where the ducks are!

You can walk/bike the full loop to visit also visit the Pittsford Library and Village Bakery.
