It doesn’t get much better than Sodus Point Beach Park! This is a stunning beach with views of Sodus Point light house, a playground directly on the sand, concession stand, and a pavilion with tables to enjoy your picnic. At the end of the day grab some food at one of the many restaurants in town. Be sure to make a stop at the nearby Burnap’s Farm Market as well!

The Playground

Placed conveniently near to the large pavilion, and a few steps from the lake, is the new and improved playground alongside the previous play structure on the beach. From baby swings to slides, your little one will have a great time here. The new play area has much to offer with sun coverings and lots to do for different ages to play. Plus, what is better than a playground in the sand? Being on the beach, there is little shade. Don’t forget the sunscreen!

The Swimming

A trip to the beach means swimming of course! Here’s what to expect- There is a guarded swimming area along the lake. This is a sandy beach, but once you enter the water it does have pebbles and shells so water shoes are recommended. Poor water quality may close the beach to swimming. Call (315) 946-5624 (Mon – Fri only) for beach conditions. Don’t forget to bring along sand toys to play waterside.

Please Note: “Supervised swimming available during park hours from 11 AM to 7 PM from late June to Labor Day.”

The Venue

A large hexagon shaped pavilion with picnic tables, and a few grills placed directly by the playground, concession and bathhouse. There is no electric at this venue. There are multiple trash cans onsite. Please note- Wayne County does not rent out this pavilion and therefore is first come first serve. Please be mindful of others when hosting small gatherings at Sodus Point Beach Park.
