i-Square makes for a fun and unique spot to grab ice cream (or lunch, dinner, drinks, etc). The combination of rooftop dining and the open lawn with frequent free concerts makes this a summer must-do!

Sandy Bottom Beach park offers a lovely day at the beach on Honeoye Lake. Near the beach are two quaint playgrounds with a good mix of sun and shade. Enjoy the lake views and the wildlife along the hiking trails. The park is located at the north end of Honeoye Lake which is off County Road 36 (West Lake Road). The park is open daily from dawn to dusk.

Head to Irondequoit Bay on a warm Rochester day. Make a day of it and enjoy the playground, beach, pier and Bill Gray’s. There is a sidewalk connecting them all and continued efforts to make the area more pedestrian friendly.

Long Acre Farm is a must visit every fall (or spring or summer!) It is open May through October and boasts NY’s longest running corn maze, a gift shop, ice cream stand, winery, summer concerts, free activities for the kids and extended activities with the purchase of an admission bracelet.

Seneca Lake State Park is a wonderful day-cation spot! There are not one, not two but three playgrounds within walking distance of the splash pad and beach. As this is a state park, there is a $7 vehicle entrance fee. Plan ahead and check out the Empire State Park Pass from the library to get into the park for free!
